Points of Light Partnership with PM4C
Benefits PMDoS!

It is with great pleasure that Board of Project Management for Change (PM4C), announces that it is partnering with Points of Light to recruit and vet local nonprofit organizations to participate in the DC, New York City and Hampton Roads Project Management Days of Service signature events.  Points of Light is the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service.  They mobilize millions of people to take action that is changing the world. Through affiliates in 250 cities – such as the Volunteer Hampton Roads organization that is already working with PMI Hampton Roads Chapter PMDoS Team to find NPOs to participate in their PMDoS event -- and partnerships with thousands of nonprofits and corporations, Points of Light engages 4 million volunteers in 30 million hours of service each year. They bring the power of people to bear where it’s needed most. For more information, go to www.pointsoflight.org.

Hear the words of the participants:

“It was an extremely valuable day for me and has given me plenty of useful guidance to go on with my initiative” -- Melissa Smith, Rural Immersion Ltd

“I am working on the KSN Strategic Plan right now and incorporating your ideas. It will be a much more meaningful document and strategy, with fresh angles I can take to my Management Committee” -- Peter Watling, KSN

Please accept my belated ‘thank you’ for bringing the Project Management Institute’s ‘Day of Giving’ not just to Australia, but to Brisbane. We were delighted to be chosen as one of the 20 not-for-profits and we certainly benefited from the four consultants who assisted us on the day. They had broad skill sets and varying backgrounds, but with their project management strength and focus, combined with Karla’s preparation and leadership, we made real advances on all three of our projects. Ronda did a great job of liaising with us beforehand which helped us to get the most out of the day.

“Thank you for your contribution to the Australian Pet Welfare Foundation’s future. We hope to implement what we learned and developed on the day, despite our resourcing challenges. The ‘Day of Giving’ is certainly an innovative initiative and I hope that you continue it and assist other not-for-profits as you have assisted us already” -- Jacquie Rand, Australian Pet Welfare Foundation
