PMDoS: Changing the World One Project at a Time – The Ripple Effect

This is the story of CareerCatchers, Inc. (CC), a 501c3 organization dedicated to working with under and unemployed, low-income and disadvantaged residents of the Washington metropolitan area. CareerCatchers supports each client as they move along the self-sufficiency continuum.

The Scoping and Planning work done by Project Managers like you at PMDoS 2015, became the basis for a customized solution to track the progress and success of individuals within the CareerCatchers programs. CareerCatchers was one of the two nonprofits selected to receive pro bono services in order to see their projects through to completion. These pro bono services were provided by two of PMDoS founding sponsors, HP and BIS Global (the providers of CharityEngine - a donor management, fundraising and online communications tool for nonprofits).

And here is the ripple effect…

BIS Global was able to apply the custom solution they had built for CareerCatchers to No One Left Behind, a local nonprofit whose mission is to help Afghan and Iraqi combat interpreters with Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) resettle safely in the United States. Among other services, they provide assistance with housing, employment and cultural adaptation.

“I wish you all could have seen their faces when I showed them what we created for CareerCatchers and how it could work for them. Priceless.”   Leigh Kessler BIS Global.
